Description
This stamp celebrates the tenth anniversary of Tunisia's independence by depicting a symbolic vision of regained freedom and national affirmation. The illustration expresses a surge of collective emancipation through a stylized figure with raised arms, associated with the national flag and birds in flight, universal images of sovereignty, hope and peace. The composition suggests a young and dynamic nation, looking to the future, which claims its place in the world after the end of the protectorate. In the Tunisian context of the years following independence, this stamp reflects the desire to build a modern identity based on the unity of the people, national pride and the consolidation of the State, while promoting the ideals of freedom, dignity and progress which accompanied the birth of the Republic.
