Description
The 50th anniversary of the Tunisian Constitution, celebrated on June 1, 2009, marked half a century since the signing of the Constitution on June 1, 1959 by Habib Bourguiba. This founding text, pillar of independent and modernist Tunisia, established the Republic, abolished the monarchy and organized the powers of the State after independence in 1956.
