Description
Callistemon rigidus (often called stiff bottlebrush or bottlebrush) is an ornamental shrub native to Australia. In Tunisia, it is very popular in Mediterranean landscaping for its robustness, its resistance to drought and its spectacular bright red flower spikes.
Very well adapted to the Tunisian climate, it loves full sun and tolerates high heat very well. It tolerates poor, calcareous soils, and requires little water once it is well rooted. It is commonly planted alone, in flowering hedges or in rows along streets and in dry gardens.
