Description
This large format issue celebrates the centenary of the first postage stamp issued in Tunisia (1888-1988). The educational illustration uses two philatelist's magnifying glasses to compare the past and the present: on the left, the very first Tunisian stamp from 1888 (coat of arms type); on the right, a modern stamp from 1988 presenting the current coat of arms of the Republic. A stamp clip completes the decor. This stamp underlines the continuity of the Tunisian postal administration and its historical role in the communication and sovereignty of the country, celebrating philately as a mirror of national evolution.
