This stamp dedicated to Sousse highlights the dual historical and urban dimensions of the city, by juxtaposing the ancient fabric of the medina and modern architecture representative of contemporary development. The illustration reflects the continuity between a past marked by trade, defense and Mediterranean life, and a present focused on economic activity, tourism and urbanization. The geometric volumes and built density evoke a living, structured and open city, where heritage and modernity coexist. In the Tunisian context, this stamp reflects the desire to promote large cities as engines of national development, while affirming that urban identity is based on the balance between conservation of historical heritage and adaptation to the demands of the modern world.
