Description
Ibn Rachiq Al-Kairouani (c. 1000–1064) was a poet, literary critic and major scholar of the Zirid era, born in M'Sila (Algeria) and active in Kairouan (Tunisia). Famous for his work "Al-'Umda", an absolute reference in poetic theory, he left his mark on North African literature and is honored in Tunisia (portrait on the 50 dinar note).
