Description
This stamp commemorates the designation of Tunis as “Regional Cultural Capital” in 1997. The illustration by artist Abdelaziz Ben Mahmoud presents a dreamlike composition: a red Phoenician sailboat flown over by stylized and colorful faces, evoking the different civilizations that have shaped Tunisian identity.
